Gibb attends WHO meeting in Albania.

Dr. Gibb attended a Core Group meeting of the World Health Organization’s Foodborne Epidemiology Reference Group (FERG) in Durrës, Albania from November 7 to November 10, 2011. Dr. Gibb chairs the Chemical and Toxins Task Force of the FERG. The Core Group discussed plans for completion of WHO’s estimate of the global burden of foodborne illness. The Core Group also discussed the pilot studies of foodborne illness in four countries – Albania, Japan, Thailand, and Uganda and were briefed by representatives of the four countries on their study plans.
