Dr. Scialli Publishes Landmark Paper

Tetra Tech Sciences’ Anthony Scialli coauthored a landmark paper that appeared in the journal Birth Defects Research. The paper presents the deliberations of a committee charged with developing an approach to validating alternative test systems in developmental toxicology. Attempts to validate these types of alternative assays have been made for several decades, but no system has been successful. Scialli and his coauthors determined that the reason for the lack of success lay in the use of chemicals as positives or negatives rather than in the incorporation of exposure levels.
