Biologic Implications from an Epidemiologic Study of Chromate Production Workers Publication
Dr. Gibb and Ms. Haver have published a paper on the biologic implications from an epidemiologic study of chromate production workers. Among several observations, the study found that the earlier in life exposure began, the greater the risk which may be related to the ability to more efficiently reduce hexavalent chromium intracellularly at younger ages. Short term cumulative hexavalent chromium exposure was found to present more carcinogenic risk than the same cumulative exposure spread over a longer term.
