Recent Publication

Herman Gibb of Tetra Tech Sciences and Jessie P. Buckley, formerly of Tetra Tech  Sciences, are authors of a chapter on Cancer Epidemiology in the recently published Cancer Risk Assessment: Chemical Carcinogenesis, Hazard Evaluation, and Risk Quantification, a John Wiley and Sons publication.  The book is over 800 pages and has sections on cancer risk assessment, science policy, and regulatory framework; cancer biology and toxicology; genetic toxicology, testing guidelines and regulations, and novel assays; assessing the relevance of chemical-induced tumors; methods for informing cancer risk quantification; and general approaches for quantifying cancer risks. 

FERG Task Force

Herman Gibb and Cary Haver attended the World Health Organization’s Chemical and Toxins Task Force meeting in Tunis, Tunisia, July 12-14, 2010.  Dr. Gibb chairs the Task Force.  Ms. Haver served as the rapporteur for the meeting.  The task force is one of five task forces that are part of the WHO’s Foodborne Epidemiology Reference Group (FERG).  FERG is developing global estimates of the burden of foodborne disease.
