Dr. Gibb participates in WHO meeting on chemicals of major public health concern.

Dr. Gibb participated in a meeting on December 3-4, 2009 at WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, regarding chemicals of major public health concern.  The chemicals or chemical groups included lead, cadmium, arsenic, benzene, fluoride, polychlorinated biphenyls, dioxins, and furans, highly hazardous pesticides, and major air pollutants.  Short documents that had been prepared on each of the chemicals or chemical classes were discussed at the meeting.  The document on major air pollutants was prepared by Dr. Gibb and Ms. Cary Haver of Tetra Tech Sciences. The documents are intended for policy makers and will eventually be available electronically and distributed to countries around the globe.
