Dr. Gibb to chair WHO Task Force Meeting July 14-16, 2009

Dr. Gibb chairs the Chemical and Toxins Task Force of the World Health Organization's Foodborne Epidemiology Reference Group (FERG).  The Task Force which is comprised of representatives from six continents will meet in Geneva, Switzerland, July 14-16, 2009.  Dr. Gibb has chaired the Task Force since its inception in November 2007.  The objective of the Task Force is to estimate the global burden of disease from foodborne illness by 2012.  See the Lancet and the International Jounal of Food Microbiology article for a more complete description of the work of FERG.
