Teratology Double-Header
Tetra Tech Sciences’ Anthony Scialli presented back-to-back lectures in New Jersey in February. His presentation, titled Myths of Teratology, was presented to the New Jersey Maternal Fetal Medicine Society in Jamesburg and to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. Dr. Scialli discussed some of the misunderstandings about teratology common among practitioners and patients. For example, it is commonly held that all exposures are risky during the first trimester and nothing is risky thereafter. In fact, there are ample examples of exposures where risk occurs only after the first trimester.
