Dr. Gibb to review NIOSH chromium document

Dr. Gibb has been invited to attend NIOSH public meeting on hexavalent chromium document. Dr. Gibb has been invited by NIOSH to particpate in the public review of the NIOSH draft document “NIOSH Criteria Document Update: Occupational Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium” in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 22, 2009. Dr. Gibb is the senior author of "Lung cancer among workers in chromium chemical production" (American Journal of Industrial Medicine 38:115-126, 2000) which forms the basis of the quantitative risk assessment of hexavalent chromium performed by NIOSH in its draft criteria document. The Gibb et al. study also is the basis of the current OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit for hexavalent chromium.
