2008 Meeting of the Middle Atlantic Reproduction and Teratology Association (MARTA)

Eric Hooker, Tetra Tech Sciences toxicologist, attended the Fall 2008 meeting of the Middle Atlantic Reproduction and Teratology Association (MARTA) at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, on October 16 and 17. The topic of the meeting was "Bio-Pharmaceutical Safety: How Do We Adequately Assess Developmental and Reproductive Toxicity?" Presentations and discussions covered the development of the immune system in rodents and primates, considerations for preclinical studies of peri-natal administration of biological drugs, and the use of vaccines in pregnant women.
