
Sciences Publishes REACH Analysis.
An analysis of the REACH requirements for reproductive and developmental toxicology was published by SII ’s Anthony Scialli. Dr. Scialli has determined that the requirements as written call for unreasonably large numbers of vertebrate animals and financial resources. The provisions of REACH allowing the use of other sources of information for reproductive and developmental toxicity requirements have been largely undermined in draft REACH guidance documents; however, it is possible that the use of “read-across” strategies will permit registrants to avoid The burdens of additional whole-animal testing for some compounds.
