Sciences conducts study of fatalities in residential construction.
Ms. Poulin analyzed data from the Bureau of
Labor Statistics’ Census
of Fatal Occupational Injuries program to determine
the frequency, rates, and causes of fatal injuries
in the U.S. residential construction industry.
The study, titled “Residential Construction Fatalities 2003-2006”,
was conducted for the National Association of Home Builders and
is the most comprehensive analysis of fatalities in the home building
industry to date. The study highlights industry hazards and will
serve as a baseline for future studies of construction safety.
